A 15-year-old Indonesian boy is dead after he fell into a flooded drain and was swept away during Wednesday's heavy downpour.

The dead body of the boy, identified only as William, was found by Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) rescuers in the canal next to Block 82, Whampoa Drive, reported Channel NewsAsia.
He had been reported missing for several hours after his friends saw him fall into a flooded drain near Balestier Road during a heavy thunderstorm.
The teen, who was here on holiday, was with two other friends when the incident happened.
His friends described how William was wading through shin-deep waters at 2:30pm when he fell into the drain.Although the drain is guarded by a railing, William is believed to have fallen into the 1.2-metre drain after stepping through the railing.
His friend said they tried to rescue him but he was then swept away by onrushing water at the intersection of Mindu Road and Mandalay Road.
