PSLE: Playing in the Library

Sunlight streamed into the National Library. Everywhere was so quiet.

Out of the blue, three boys, Ben, David and Ali sped off in a flurry.

Ben was the first one to run. David and Ali followed close behind. The last
one was David. However, he overtook Ali and cried, "Ali is the last one! Ali
is the last one!" Ali blushed and raced after David. Now, David became the
last one. Pushing and shoving, the three boys ran down the aisle of the
library. David caught up, got past Ben and shouted, "Slowcoach! Slowcoach!
Ben is a slowcoach!"

"Shush!" other patrons in the library hissed to them but they ignored the
adults. They kept running and running.

Suddenly, Ben collided into a girl. Books tumbled down to the floor and
both ended up on their fours. Ben got up and the three boys saw the librarian
approaching them in fury.

"You shouldn't be running around, behaving like monkeys in the zoo!" the
plump librarian admonished them sternly.

The three boys' faces turned red with embarrassment. Without any
prompting, they apologized profusely to the girl and even offered to help her
pick up the library books. They also promised to adhere to the rules of the
library at all times. With that, the library became quiet again. Shhh ....
